Hometown: Originally from Mt Buller in Australia and now based in Wanaka for Southern winters and Aspen in northern winters!

Skiing Disciplines: Freeride skier

Tell us about your early days on skis. When did you first venture beyond the marked trails?

I started skiing at Mt Buller from the age of 2. It was a great mountain to start skiing on with a tonne of different terrain for a small mountain. during covid, Buller had a great snow year, and I skied some pretty epic terrain off the back side of the summit. This felt like a huge mission at the time.

Do you remember your first big trick or jump? What was the moment like?

My first big trick was probably a backflip. I was skiing with dad when we found a jump. it looked really good so I decided to go for it. I was so nervous at the top, but I landed it first try. I was so stoked to land it because it was one of my big goals for the year.

"I use the Trooper Helmet because it’s super comfortable and safe. Durden Goggles which fit perfectly to my helmet and the lenses are clear and perfect for both bright and flat light."

What's been your proudest skiing moment?

My proudest moment was making it to the finals in Silver Belt up in Sugar Bowl last northern season. I was super stoked with my qualifying run because I landed the biggest double of the day and made it through to finals, where I competed against heaps of pros, which was such a good experience, and I can’t wait to go back next year.

Away from the skiifields, what do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love to surf back in Australia, it’s a great contrast to skiing and it feels so good to kick the boots off. In my spare time i also go to the gym to stay strong for the winters. Most days after skiing in New Zealand I play frisbee golf with some of my mates in town. It’s always funny and it’s also good to do something other than skiing during the winter.

What's your all-time favourite skifield and why? Near or far!

I’ve been to so many resorts, I can’t really choose a favourite, but Treble Cone down here in Wanakā is so fun to ride because of all the natural half pipes, side hits and big, steep, rocky terrain. Some other great ones are, Revelstoke, Sugarbowl and Aspen Mountain.

Any big goals or and ambitions for the year?

I’m always looking for more comp experience with the goal of Junior Worlds next year. I’m also constantly improving my on-snow tricks.

Do you remember your first impression when you tried Sweet Protection for the first time?

My first Sweet helmet was in 2020, it was one of the racing helmets. It was super comfortable and lasted ages. No one really had them at the time and it felt new and exciting.

What Sweet Protection kit is your go-to this season and why?

This season I use the trooper helmet because it’s super comfortable and safe. Durden goggles which fit perfectly to my helmet and the lenses are clear and perfect for both bright and flat light. I also wear a Sweet Protection back protector, which fits so comfortably it’s like it’s not even there.
